Cerebral Palsy
Prevention
Cerebral palsy can be prevented in certain circumstances. One of the most important factors in its prevention is proper prenatal care. Pregnant women should be under a physician's care throughout the pregnancy and should be tested routinely for Rh factor.
In addition, medical conditions such as diabetes and anemia should be monitored and controlled. Proper nutrition, and in some instances medication, can be used to prevent and cure viruses and infections. Finally, all care should be taken in protecting pregnant women and infants from accidents or injury.
